What an AI Santa video actually is
An AI Santa video is a personalized Christmas message that is generated rather than filmed. Instead of an actor recording thousands of names in advance and a system picking the closest one, the words and the voice are produced for your child specifically, and Santa is animated saying them at the North Pole.
That’s the whole trick, and it’s worth understanding because it explains why these videos can do things the older services can’t. A pre-recorded Santa can say “Emma” because someone once recorded “Emma”. He cannot say “congratulations on the swimming badge” unless somebody recorded that too. An AI Santa video has no such library to be limited by, so the Christmas message can be about anything you tell it — which is the difference between a template with a name slotted in and something written for one child.
Three things are being generated, and it’s worth knowing which is which:
The script
Written from the details you give — their name, their age, where they live, what they’re into, the thing they’re proud of, what they’ve asked for — in Santa’s voice rather than in a template with gaps punched in it. You choose the tone and how long it runs.
The voice
Spoken with real warmth, pauses and emphasis, not the flat cadence of a satnav. This is the part that used to give AI video away instantly, and it’s the part that has changed most. Santa comes in US and UK.
The performance
Your chosen Santa is lip-synced to the words, so the mouth matches what’s being said and he moves like someone talking to a person rather than a photograph being puppeted.
You choose your Santa. You don’t upload anybody.
This is the part worth being explicit about, because it is the opposite of what most people expect an AI tool to want from them.
There is no photo upload. You pick your Santa from ours, pick his voice, and that is the entire visual decision. No picture of your child goes anywhere near the video, because the video does not need one — the personalization lives in what Santa says, not in whose face is on screen.
Why that matters more than it sounds. Every other AI tool asking a parent for a photo creates a question the parent has to think about: where does that image go, how long is it kept, what else is it used for. We don’t ask, so there is no answer you have to take on trust. It is the rare case where the simpler product is also the safer one.
What people actually use it for
- The child who has started asking questions. A Santa who knows the name of their school, their little brother, and the badge they got in October is a harder thing to argue with than a generic one.

The honest bit about AI and your family’s data
“AI” and “tell us about your child” are two phrases that should make any parent pause, and we’d rather answer that here than leave it sitting under a link at the bottom of the page.
What you type into the wizard — the name, the age, the town, the wish — is used to write the script and is stored with your video so that you can go back to it later. It is not sold, not shared, and not used to train anything. If you want it gone, deleting the video removes the details with it.
A few other things worth stating plainly:
- There are no ads on this site and no advertising trackers following your child’s details anywhere afterwards.
- Nothing of your child is in the video itself. No face, no photo, no voice sample. Their name is spoken; that is the whole of their presence in it.
- The free letter goes further still. It is drawn in your own browser and never sent to us at all — we never see what you typed.

Worth knowing before you make one, because managing the expectation is the difference between delight and a shrug.

AI Santa video questions
Do I have to upload a photo of my child?
No — there is no photo upload at all. You choose your Santa from our characters and he is the one on screen. The personalization is in what he says, not in whose face is showing, so no picture of your child is ever involved.
Does it do face swap?
No, and that is deliberate rather than a gap. Putting a real person’s face into a generated video raises questions about consent and storage that we would rather not create for a product aimed at children. Santa is Santa.
Will it look fake?
It looks like Santa recorded a video message, which is what it is. The voice is where the quality shows most, and it is the part that has improved fastest — the giveaway used to be a flat, hurried delivery, and it no longer is.
What does the AI actually know about my child?
Exactly what you type in: their name, age, where they live, their interests, something they’re proud of, and what they’ve asked for. Nothing is inferred and nothing is looked up. If you leave a field blank, Santa simply doesn’t mention it.
Can Santa speak a language other than English?
Not yet. The voices are US and UK English, and we would rather tell you that here than have you find out from the finished video. More languages are on the list.
How long does the AI take to generate the video?
About three to five minutes once you’ve finished the details. Filling in the wizard takes longer than the rendering does, and you don’t have to sit and watch a progress bar — it lets you know when it’s ready.
